A function of the local association level of PHCC is to provide information for the public about the following topics:
Why does PHCC feel it is important to provide support for the public? Part of the PHCC mission statement is to be guardians of clean air and water, along with public safety.
Below, find information on the topics above
City Permits for Construction and Repair. The public must have a city permit to: replace a hot water heater or air conditioning unit, expand the size of a house, or add heating or cooling. To protect you and your loved ones against harmful accidents it is better to let a licensed professional do the work. PHCC professionals are trained and equipped to do the job correctly while meeting required code standards
Complaint Filing. If you have a complaint about the work not being completed after paying for it, there are 3 places you can file a complaint. You can file a complaint with the state and they will subpoena the contractor or handyman. He then faces a hearing and some hefty fines if he is found wanting. The second place is with OKC department of code enforcement or the public works department. The third place is with the Better Business Bureau.
Why Hire a PHCC Member? There are three important reasons. 1. They are licensed, which means they must meet certain criteria to first obtain their license, another high set of criteria to maintain their license, and accountability with their public. 2. They ascribe to the PHCC mission statement which has your interests at heart. 3. They are committed to continuing education which keeps them current with all codes and products.
